The working blades and non-working blades are installed on the mounting ring. The working blades are responsible for bearing the forward axial thrust of the rotor, while the non-working blades bear the reverse axial thrust. This design ensures that the bearing can efficiently transfer and balance the axial force.

The thrust ball bearing is a type of split bearing. The inner ring, the outer ring, and the cage and the balls can be separated. The inner ring is the sleeve that fits onto the shaft, the outer ring is the sleeve that fits into the bearing housing hole, and there is a gap between them and the shaft.

1. Thrust ball bearings can only withstand axial loads. One-way thrust ball bearings can only withstand axial loads in one direction, while two-way thrust ball bearings can withstand axial loads in both directions.

2. Thrust ball bearings cannot restrict the radial displacement of the shaft, and their maximum rotational speed is very low. One-way thrust ball bearings can restrict the axial displacement of the shaft and the housing in one direction, while two-way bearings can restrict the axial displacement in both directions.

3. Thrust roller bearings are used to bear axial loads mainly, as well as combined axial and radial loads. However, the radial load should not exceed 55% of the axial load. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this type of bearing has a lower friction coefficient, a higher rotational speed, and a self-aligning property.

4. Thrust cylindrical roller bearings and thrust needle roller bearings are suitable for applications with low rotational speeds. Thrust conical roller bearings have a slightly higher rotational speed than thrust cylindrical roller bearings.
