The function of the clutch slave pump is to separate the clutch pressure plate and the sheet from the flywheel, allowing the shifting process to begin. It operates based on hydraulic principles and has the advantage of minimal power loss during transmission. Moreover, the torque can be adjusted by changing the cylinder diameter and stroke of the main pump and the slave pump, which is equivalent to a lever.

 

Principle of clutch slave pump booster: The pneumatic booster for the vehicle clutch is installed in the hydraulic control mechanism and shares the same compressed air source with the pneumatic braking system and other pneumatic equipment. Its key components consist of an air pressure regulating valve, a hydraulic cylinder, a power piston, and a housing. The master pump and the slave pump are essentially two hydraulic cylinders. The master pump has inlet and outlet pipes, while the slave pump has only one pipe. When the clutch is depressed, the pressure from the master pump is transmitted to the slave pump, and the slave pump operates, disengaging the clutch disc and the clutch plates from the flywheel. At this point, shifting can begin. When the clutch is released, the slave pump stops working, the clutch disc and the clutch plates come into contact with the flywheel, and the power transmission continues. The oil from the slave pump flows back into the oil tank.

In order to minimize the force acting on the clutch pedal to the greatest extent while not increasing the pedal stroke due to an excessively large transmission ratio of the transmission device, various assist devices have been added on the basis of mechanical or hydraulic control mechanisms in medium and heavy vehicles and certain automobiles. When depressing the clutch pedal, hydraulic oil forms a certain pressure in the clutch master cylinder and then enters the clutch booster. At this time, the hydraulic oil performs its work in two steps within the booster. The first step is to enter the hydraulic system of the clutch booster. The hydraulic oil acts on the hydraulic piston, and the hydraulic piston pushes the B rod forward. The left end of the hydraulic piston is maintained in a sealed state by a D-shaped gasket, and the hydraulic piston has two hydraulic piston cups.
