The brake valve is the main control device in the automotive parking brake system. The brake valve mainly consists of an upper chamber piston, a lower chamber piston, a push rod, a roller, a balance spring, a return spring (for both upper and lower chambers), an upper chamber valve, a lower chamber valve, an air intake port, an air outlet, an exhaust port, and ventilation holes.

The following are the advantages of having an exhaust brake valve in a car

1. When driving on a long downhill slope, the number of times and duration of the application of the parking brake can be significantly reduced, preventing the brake from overheating and losing its braking force, and keeping the brake always in good condition. This prolongs the lifespan of the brake pads, reduces the driver's fatigue during the braking process, and is beneficial to environmental protection.

2. Exhaust braking is a type of braking that occurs when the gas in the engine and exhaust pipe is compressed. This method provides a gentle braking effect, without causing shock, and reduces the impact load on the components, thereby extending the service life of the related parts and reducing the frequency of maintenance.

3. The exhaust braking system transmits the braking force to the driving wheels through the transmission system. The differential of the drive axle evenly distributes the braking torque to the left and right wheels. This reduces the tendency of the vehicle to skid sideways. When driving, it provides a sense of security and can increase the average speed of the vehicle.

4. The oil cutoff switch for exhaust braking can achieve a certain level of fuel saving.

It was achieved by using compressed air to increase the pressure and thereby perform the braking.

The intake port of the relay valve is connected to the air reservoir, and the exhaust port is connected to the brake chamber. When the brake pedal is depressed, the output air pressure of the brake valve is input as the control pressure of the relay valve. Under the action of this control pressure, the intake valve is pushed open, so the compressed air directly enters the brake chamber from the air reservoir through the intake port, without passing through the brake valve. This significantly shortens the charging pipeline of the brake chamber and accelerates the charging process of the chamber.

The relay valve is a component of the automotive pneumatic brake system. In the braking system of heavy-duty vehicles, the relay valve plays a role in shortening the reaction time and the pressure build-up time.

Parking brake: Also known as the handbrake, it is mainly used to prevent the vehicle from moving when parking. Usually, there is a pull wire connected to the braking device of the rear wheels.

Clutch pedal: Mainly used in manual transmission vehicles. By pressing the clutch pedal, the connection between the engine and the transmission is separated, allowing for gear shifting or parking.

Brake pedal: Also known as the foot brake, it is used to slow down or stop the vehicle. Through the hydraulic system, the brake is pushed to clamp the wheels, causing the vehicle to slow down or stop.

Cautionary notes for using the relay valve

1. When the flatbed transport vehicle is in the parking brake condition, the auxiliary valve leaks air. This does not cause any malfunction to the flatbed transport vehicle. This is obviously due to damage to the intake valve seal of the brake valve or the presence of foreign objects or impurities between the valve and the valve seat, causing the valve to not close tightly.

2. When the flatbed transport vehicle is in motion, the auxiliary valve continuously leaks air from the exhaust port. This clearly indicates that the exhaust valve and the piston are not tightly sealed. At this time, the air pressure in the spring energy storage braking compartment will be insufficient, causing the "stalling" fault of the parking brake.
