The clutch disc of a truck is generally replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 kilometers. The most reliable way to determine when to replace the clutch disc is based on the mileage traveled and the degree of wear on the disc. In any of the following six situations, the clutch needs to be replaced:

1. The clutch is working more and more smoothly.

2. The car is losing its power while climbing the hill.

3. After the vehicle has been driven for a while, a burnt smell can be detected.

4. The simplest solution is that you can put the gearshift in 1st position, engage the handbrake (or step on the brake), and then start the vehicle. If the engine doesn't shut off, it's time for a replacement.

5. When shifting into first gear, there is an uneven feeling when depressing the clutch. The vehicle exhibits a front-to-back shaking sensation. When applying the brake and releasing the clutch, there is a clumsy feeling. The clutch plate needs to be replaced.

6. Every time the clutch is depressed, a metallic grinding sound can be heard. This might indicate that the clutch disc is severely worn out.

The clutch disc, also known as the clutch friction plate, is an easily worn component in the vehicle's drive system. Its main function is to transfer and cut off power between the engine and the gearbox, enabling the vehicle to start smoothly, shift gears, and prevent the transmission system from overloading.

According to the number of driven discs, it can be classified as a single-disc, double-disc, or multi-disc clutch. The main material is composite material, including asbestos-based, semi-metallic, composite fibers, and ceramic fibers, and non-asbestos environmentally friendly materials are the mainstream direction. It needs to be replaced regularly, with a cycle typically ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 kilometers [18-19]. After wear, it may cause clutch slipping, incomplete disengagement, shaking when starting, and abnormal noises.
