The working principle of the engine water pump is to transmit power through the drive shaft to the impeller of the water pump. Drive shaft
The drive shaft of the engine is connected to the water pump via a belt or chain. When the engine is operating, the drive shaft will drive the rotation of the water pump.
Impeller
The core component of the water pump is the impeller. The impeller is usually made of metal and generates centrifugal force through rotation.
The force will draw the liquid in through the inlet, and then push it out through the outlet by means of centrifugal force.
Enclosed chamber
The main body of the pump is an enclosed chamber. Inside the chamber, there are an inlet and an outlet. When the impeller rotates, the liquid will be sucked into the enclosed chamber.
Inletting of liquid
After the liquid is sucked into the chamber through the inlet, the rotation of the impeller will generate centrifugal force, causing the liquid to be subjected to centrifugal force and spread outward.
Discharge of liquid
Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid will be pushed out of the pump through the outlet. The liquid will pass through the engine cooler or water tank, and then be returned to the engine for circulation.
