The main function of the car radiator is to maintain an appropriate temperature for the car under various working conditions.
1. Most radiators are installed in front of the engine and the fan to increase the heat dissipation area and accelerate the cooling of the antifreeze. It consists of an inlet chamber, an outlet chamber, a main board and a radiator core. The antifreeze flows inside the core and the air flows outside the core. Heat exchange occurs to dissipate heat.
2. The radiator not only dissipates heat but also stores water. When the car is running, the temperature of the antifreeze rises, causing the volume to expand, which increases the system pressure. When the pressure exceeds the preset value, the pressure valve opens, allowing some antifreeze to enter the compensation tank to prevent the radiator from cracking. When the engine stops, the temperature drops and the pressure decreases. The vacuum valve opens, allowing the antifreeze in the compensation tank to flow back, avoiding the radiator from being damaged.
3. Among the materials with excellent high-temperature resistance such as silicone rubber, acrylate rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, and fluorine rubber, the only one that does not have good oil resistance is silicone rubber. However, silicone rubber is the cheapest among these four materials. The prices of acrylate rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, and fluorine rubber are approximately twice, 17 times, and 6 times that of silicone rubber respectively. Therefore, if silicone rubber or fluorine rubber is chosen as the rubber material for the intake hose of the intercooler in a closed structure oil separation system, it will not have cost advantages. However, the high-temperature resistance of acrylate rubber is only about 175°C, and it can be used in engines with smaller exhaust volumes.
4. Adopting the modification with high molecular materials and the design of structural differences is a very effective approach. By blending and modifying materials such as high-temperature-resistant and low-cost silicone rubber with excellent oil resistance fluorosilicone rubber and fluorosilane rubber, the inner lining of the hose becomes the oil-resistant layer, while the other parts are made of silicone with a "fluorosilane on the outside and silicone on the inside" structure. This achieves the goal of meeting the requirements of engine usage while also reducing costs.
